English cricket team pacer, who is the second-highest wicket-taker in Tests for England, announced his retirement from international cricket in an interview, post Day 3 of the fifth Ashes 2023 Test. His sudden announcement shocked the fans, as the right-handed pacer still had a lot of cricket left in him.

Steve Smith gives tribute to Stuart Broad ahead of Day 4 of the 5th Test 

Australian cricket team batter Steve Smith, who is one of the prime batsmen of his team, gave tribute to English pacer Stuart Broad after the end of the third session on Day 3 of the fifth Test match. While walking out of the dressing room, Smith shook hands with Broad and appreciated him for his stellar international career. 

Stuart Broad's last words ahead of international retirement 

Stuart Broad announced his decision to retire, saying that the fifth Ashes 2023 Test will be the final match of his international career. Broad spoke about his decision during a post-match interaction with Sky Sports at the end of Day three of the fifth Test, Broad said:

It's been a wonderful ride, a huge privilege to wear the Nottinghamshire and the England badge as much as I have. And I'm loving cricket as much as I ever have. It's been such a wonderful series to be a part of, and I've always wanted to finish at the top. And this series just feels like it's been one of the most enjoyable and entertaining I've been a part of.
