Ishan Kishan was able to make a strong comeback as he featured in the Buchi Babu tournament, which began on August 15th, 2024. While leading the JSCA side, Kishan delivered a productive outing while behind the wickets. The cricketer showed his prowess and took three impressive catches to dismiss the Madhya Pradesh batters while competing at the India Cements Limited Cricket Ground in Sankar Nagar. The JSCA wicketkeeper-batter helped in dismissing cricketers like Chanchal Rathore, Shubham S Kushwah and Ramveer Gurjar.
The Indian wicketkeeper-batter's heroics led to Madhya Pradesh capping off their day at 225 runs after 89.5 Overs.
Kishan made his red-ball return after quite a while. He last featured for India during the West Indies Tests at the Queen's Park Oval at Port of Spain. The India keeper-batter is yet to make his return to the national side, and he needs to display his prowess in domestics to make a return to the Men in Blue.
Top India players like wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan and middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer missed out on their central playing contracts with the BCCI and Team India. The situation took place after the players missed out on playing domestic cricket, despite being available for it. Despite strict directives by the BCCI, the players failed to adhere, leading to them missing their contractual extensions. While Iyer was featured in the Sri Lanka series, Kishan is yet to make his national comeback, and his road to redemption needs to begin by featuring in FC Cricket and domestic tournaments.
