'Difference between a leader and a captain': Hardik Pandya blasted for 'most hated six'

Ahead of the 3rd T20 between India and West Indies, Team India's stand-in captain Hardik Pandya lifted the team with his team talk. India won by 7 wickets.

After enduring two consecutive defeats, India are back to winning ways. In the 3rd IND vs WI T20I played at the Providence Stadium, Team India vanquished the West Indies by 6 wickets. Chasing 160 in the match, Suryakumar Yadav stepped up for his side and played an exceptional 83 off 44. India trail the 5-match series 1-2.

Hardik Pandya receives flak after India's two consecutive losses

Hardik Pandya, who has had an enormous amount of success in the IPL as a captain of Gujarat Titans, could not get a similar headstart in the India colors. The all-rounder suffered consecutive defeats before the 3rd T20 blitz which saw India winning the match by 6 wickets. Before the statement win, Pandya was subjected to criticism, and his way of dealing with things was questioned by the netizens.

Suryakumar Yadav gives an insight about Hardik Pandya's leadership

While some enthusiasts might be skeptical of Pandya's leadership but according to the 3rd ODI's player of the match, Suryakumar Yadav, the all-rounder came up with the right words to lift the team. After the culmination of the match, SKY revealed what Pandya told the team in the meeting before the game. Here's what he said.

“It was running on the back of my mind (that India had never lost three T20Is in a row) but at the same time we spoke in the team meeting, our captain said someone needs to put their hand up and win the match, glad I was able to do that,” he said.

When asked about his mindset during the post-match presentation ceremony, Suryakumar said: “It was really important to be myself when I went in to bat in the powerplay, that's what the team management also wanted."
