India registered a comfortable victory over West Indies in the third T20I to reduce the deficit in the five-match series. Suryakumar Yadav's brilliant 83 inspired a seven-wicket victory as India will seek to use this momentum to conquer the series. Tilak Varma maintained his good form as the Mumbai Indians youngster once again claimed his stake for a place in the squad of the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup. The remaining two matches will be played in Florida.

IND vs WI: India reduce the deficit with a win in the 3rd T20I 

Two back-to-back losses did put the Men in Blue in a complicated position as a series defeat to West Indies would have been an event ahead of the Asia Cup and the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup. The Caribbeans failed to qualify for the World Cup for the first time but haven't shown any kind of restraint against the Hardik Pandya-led side.

Riding on Rovman Powell and Brandon King's destructive innings, the home side set a target of 160 for the visitors. Yashasvi Jaiswal failed to shine on his debut while Shubman Gill's disappointing run in the T20I series continues. But vice-captain Suryakumar spoiled the Windies' party with a match-winning 44 balls 83.

Suryakumar Yadav reveals Hardik Pandya's statement in the dressing room

The Mumbai Indians batsman later revealed that Hardik emphasised the need for someone to take responsibility at the crease and he was happy to play a role. “It was running on the back of my mind (that India had never lost three T20Is in a row) but at the same time we spoke in the team meeting, our captain said someone needs to put their hand up and win the match, glad I was able to do that.”

India will be adamant to maintain their streak as they would need to maintain their momentum if they are to get the better of the home side in the last two games.
