‘Still Going Strong’: Suryakumar Yadav Reveals What It’s Like to Work Under Gambhir During SL T20Is
Suryakumar Yadav opened upon working alongside Gautam Gambhir in the SL T20Is and also touched upon working with him in the past in the IPL as a part of KKR.

Skipper Suryakumar Yadav will be leading the side as a new era takes over under the tutelage of coach Gautam Gambhir. The excitement is at its peak as the fans have been rooting for him to become the coach. Ahead of the inaugural T20I fixture, skipper SKY has opened up on working with GaUTAM Gambhir as the head coach of the Men in Blue and recalled his days with the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL.

Suryakumar Yadav Reminisces His KKR Days as He Reflects on Working With Gautam Gambhir as Coach
It is not the first time that Suryakumar Yadav and Gautam Gambhir have worked together as they have been associated with each other since their IPL days with the Kolkata Knight Riders. SKY revealed his elation on working alongside coach GG, saying that their relationship has been special, strong and lovely.
"This relationship is special as back in 2014, I played under him for KKR. It was special because I got the opportunity to play for the franchise from there. There's this thing that you take three steps forward, and I take two steps as well, and we meet in the middle. That's what the relationship is like, and it is still going strong.

"He knows how do I work, what my mindset is when I come to practice, how he tries to work as a coach, and it's all about that Lovely Relationship we have. Very excited to see how it goes forward," Suryakumar said in the video shared on bcci.tv.

Team India will be seen in action against Sri Lanka, beginning with the three-match T20I series at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Suryakumar Yadav will lead the side as he has been announced as the successor for Rohit Sharma in the limited-over format. The first match will take place on July 27, 2024.
