Suryakumar Yadav, who was the Men in Blue's biggest hero, will now lead Team India in the T20I format. SKY's captaincy reign has occurred before, but under Gautam Gambhir's run, it looks like a more permanent thing. It has been a dreamy few weeks for SKY, who exclaimed his excitement for the recent promotion and expressed his delight for the fans' support from the T20 World Cup till now as he begins a new journey.

Suryakumar Yadav took to the social media platform Instagram to thank all the fans for the unwavering support he has received which goes back to the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, with SKY embracing a new role in the T20I format, he has been receiving love from the fans, and he expressed his gratefulness. He explained that the past couple of weeks have been like a dream and was grateful to the fans for supporting him no matter what.
"Thank you so much for outpouring love, support and best wishes from you. Last few weeks have been nothing short of a dream and I am truly grateful. Playing for the country is the most special feeling that I will never be able to describe in words. This new role brings with it, a lot of responsibility, excitement and enthusiasm. I hope to keep receiving your support and blessings. All fame reaches God, God is great," Suryakumar said in an Instagram post.

Suryakumar Yadav was responsible for steering India's win in the T20 World Cup after his historic catch took out the in-form David Miller and opened the chance for India to win it all over an undefeated South Africa. The Rohit Sharma-led Team India won the tournament undefeated, making them the first side to do so. It was an iconic moment as they finally tasted the sweet taste of an ICC title, ending their longstanding drought.
Team India will begin a new era as they will face off against Sri Lanka in a white-ball series. It will be the first assignment of Gautam Gambhir as the coach, and the team's top stars will make their return.
