Team India's recent success in the international sphere brought many celebratory reactions as well as comments that undermined the victory. While the entire internet is inundated with congratulatory messages, there also appeared some that insult the hard work put in by Rohit Sharma and men in the USA and West Indies. Adding to the bracket of the latter category, former Pakistan captain Inzamam Ul-Haq has alleged that Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh used illegal means to extract a reverse swing in India's match against Australia in T20 World Cup 2024.

Shami Pays Heed To Comments Made By Former Pakistan Players
During an interview, Team India's formidable pacer, Mohammed Shami paid heed to the comments made by Inzamam ul-Haq and did not shy away from criticising the former Pakistani batsman. Shami labelled Haq's comments as "cartoonish" and gave a fiery reply to him. In the process, Shami also reflected on the comments made by Hasan Raza during the ODI World Cup 2023.
“Apparently, I got a different type of ball in the World Cup. I even said in an interview that I would one day cut open the ball. In fact, I still have the Player of the Match ball with me. Another person came up with a remark on how Arshdeep managed to reverse swing the ball,” Mohammed Shami told Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube show ‘Unplugged'.

Shami Slams Inzamam Ul-Haq
Shami slammed the double standards of Inzamam Ul Haq, stating that, had Pakistan bowlers showcased the same skill, they would have defined it as "magic", but since it is Indian bowlers who created a rampage at the global platform, it is due to unfair means.

“I have only one thing to tell Inzamam-ul-Haq: if you can do it, you are a magician, but when others do it, you call it ball tampering. It's unexpected when a player of his stature makes such comments. Take these cartoonish comments somewhere else. Getting the ball to reverse swing does not require any magic, you just need to maintain it properly,” he added.
