Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024: Team India are currently in Australia preparing for the five-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India are the defending champions of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and they'll be eyeing to win it for the fifth consecutive time. The Aussies last won the BGT in 2014 and since then, its been a decade that they got their hands on the prestigious silverware. India are not only eyeing a series win 'Down Under', but they'll also have the World Test Championship (WTC) Finals in sight.
As of now, at this point in time, the World Test Championship (WTC) Final seems to be a distant dream for Team India. They need to win a total of four out of their remaining five Test matches, which means that they can't afford to lose even one Test against the Aussies in Australia. Unfortunately for India, there have been plenty of injury issues even before the start of the series and the situation is slowly but steadily turning into a serious one.
KL Rahul Returns To India Nets
Earlier it was reported that Sarfaraz Khan had been struck on his elbow and he was seen walking away from the India nets. Much to India's fortune, the youngster is doing alright and might be in contention to be included in India's final XI for the first Test. There has been pin-drop silence around the magnitude of Shubman Gill's thumb injury and it is being said that he might miss the first Test match in what will be a huge blow for the team.
