Team India Engages in Friendly Training Competition in Chennai, Virat Kohli's Side Emerge Victorious
Team India were split in two teams, as per bowling coach T Dilip, and each team participated in a competitive catching drill. Kohli's side won the competition.

Team India has been gearing up for red-ball action as the team will lock horns with Bangladesh to compete in a two-match Test series. With the first Test match being held at Chepauk, the Men in Blue have already begun their training in the ground and are getting acclimated to the conditions. A new video of Team India has come forward, where the team is seen taking up fielding drills and engaging in friendly competitions.

Team India Engage in Friendly Competitive Drills, Virat Kohli βs Side Win the Conquest
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video on 'X' [Formerly Twitter] of Team India taking up some training drills at India's MCC (Madras Cricket Club), the MA Chidambaram Stadium. India bowling coach T Dilip revealed that the Men in Blue were split in two sides and they did a catching competition among them, with the side making the least errors taking the win. Virat's side won the drill competition, and assistant coach Abhishek Nayar helped out T Dilip throughout the competition.
"Today the whole idea was to get everyone together as a team where we have done two segments - the competition drill, taking in consideration the humidity in Chennai, where the volume was less but the intensity was there. So we split into two groups and had some mini competitions in catching and the less number of errors in the team won. Today Virat's team which has won today," T Dilip said in the video.

The India bowling coach further said that the bowlers and all-rounders were divided into two groups to perform some outfield and infield catching. In the end, T Dilip expressed that the team functioned solidly despite the hot conditions in the region.

Team India will lock horns against Bangladesh to commence their red-ball season, which goes all the way down under till the beginning of the year 2025. The first test match will take place on Thursday, September 19th, 2024.
