Team India players felicitate Nepal players after Asia Cup match - WATCH

Team India displayed a great gesture to the Nepal Cricket Team, which participated in its first ever Asia Cup in 2023. India and Pakistan beat them in Group A.

Team India beat Nepal in its second Asia Cup 2023 match on September 4, 2023. The match against Pakistan was called off because of rain. Nepal scored 230 runs in 48.2 overs, but Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill did everything they could to help India win. When it rained again, the match was cut down to 23 overs, and India won by getting 147 runs in 20.1 overs (using the DLS method) without losing a wicket.

IND vs NEP: Team India applauds Nepal after the Asia Cup match

After defeating Nepal by 10 wickets in the Asia Cup 2023 encounter at the Pallekele International Stadium in Kandy, Team India thanked the Nepal cricketers in the locker room. After hearing passionate comments from Nepal coach Monty Desai, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, and head coach Rahul Dravid, gave medals to three players.

Sompal Kami received the first medal from Monty Desai for his outstanding performance. Everyone was amazed by Kami's quickfire 56 off 48 balls, which included a four and two sixes. The honour of awarding this medal belonged to Pandya. Kohli gave the second medal to Aasif Sheikh, who scored the most runs (58) for Nepal. Desai also acknowledged Sheikh's admiration for Kohli as his hero.

Desai commended Dipendra Singh for his outstanding contribution to the team's fielding energy, and Dravid concluded by awarding him a medal. Both teams engaged in some lighter conversation and joke-telling during this brief ceremony.

Team India set to face Pakistan in Asia Cup 2023 again

Team India is set to face Pakistan in the ‘Super Four’ of the Asia Cup 2023. The last clash between the Titans resulted in a draw as the match was abandoned after India’s innings due to heavy rain at Kandy. Pakistan went back to the dressing room without facing a single delivery from the Indian team. Rohit Sharma and his squad will be looking to beat their arch-rivals in order to prepare for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup at home in October's first week.
