Team India's ODI World Cup 2023 squad announced: Chahal and Samson miss out, Surya picked
In order to clinch their third ODI World Cup title, the BCCI has named 15 players who will rub shoulders with global cricketing giants for the coveted trophy

The ICC ODI World Cup is just a month away and will be hosted by India from October 5, 2023, to November 19, 2023. The cricketing extravaganza returns to the Indian subcontinent after 12 long years. Last time, the ODI World Cup was played in India, the 'Men in Blue' lifted the trophy under the leadership of MS Dhoni. The same is being expected out of the Rohit Sharma-led side which at the moment is plagued by few form and fitness issues.

Rohit Sharma (c), Hardik Pandya (vc), Ishan Kishan (wk), Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Suryakumar Yadav, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah
While naming the 17-member strong Asia Cup squad, head selector Ajit Agarkar said that the World Cup squad will be selected from the players competing in the Asia Cup and this is exactly what has happened. The BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has placed their best bets on these 15 players and they will have the onus upon themselves to win the third ODI World Cup for India.
