Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024: The horrific happenings of the IND vs NZ Test series are the matters of the past. The Indian Cricket team under the leadership of Head Coach Gautam Gambhir and Test skipper Rohit Sharma will now shift its focus towards the upcoming IND vs AUS Test series, also known as the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. India are virtually out of the World Test Championship (WTC) as Finals as of now, but they can still turn things around.
Prior to the 3-0 home Test series loss against the Kiwis, the Indian team needed only 3 wins from their remaining five Test matches, but the series loss against New Zealand has hurt India so much that they can't afford to lose even one match against the Aussies and on the top of it Rohit Sharma 's men need to win four out of the five Test matches 'Down Under'.

The duo couldn't even score a total of 200 runs together and it resulted in India being played out by New Zealand in all the three matches.
There were several reports that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma might be phased out of the team if they don't perform well in Australia. The Indian team is currently in a transitional phase and the tour to Australia isn't going to be an easy one. Before India's departure to Australia, Head Coach Gautam Gambhir spoke about the immediate future of the batting stalwarts.
