Indian team thrashed Sri Lanka by 10 wickets to lift their 8th Asia Cup title at R. Premdasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday. Led by Mohammed Siraj, the Indians displayed some exemplary bowling actions as Sri Lanka were bowled out for a paltry 50 runs in the summit clash. Indian openers Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill took just 6.1 overs to reach the target.

Ravindra Jadeja outlines his ambitions after winning the Asia Cup
This was India's first title in a multi-nation event after their triumph in the Asia Cup 2018, and in a way, it also exorcised the ghost of India's 54 all out against Lanka in the Coca Cola Champions Trophy at Sharjah in 2000. The match at Premadasa, forever, will be remembered for the way Siraj reduced the Lankan top-order to mere puppets of his sorcery.
The pacer became only the fourth bowler in ODI history to take four wickets in an over, and he matched former Lankan pacer Chaminda Vaas as the fastest to a five-wicket haul in one-dayers – in just 16 deliveries.
Ravindra Jadeja took to social media to post a picture of him with the Asia Cup trophy. He wrote, "The Asia Cup belongs to us once more!"
Jadeja is also a part of the ICC ODI World Cup squad and his all round skills will be of much importance in the upcoming cricketing extravaganza.
Siraj’s six for 21 is now the fourth-best bowling figures by an Indian bowler in ODI cricket.
Sri Lanka had opted to bowl first on a wicket that was expected to assist spin bowling, but it was the Indian quicks who ran through the Sri Lankan batting in front of a full house of 35,000 fans.
Sri Lanka and India had progressed to the Asia Cup finals while Pakistan and Bangladesh were knocked out in the Super Four stage. Afghanistan and Nepal failed to get beyond the first round.
