After Tests, ODI’s and T20I’s; modern-day cricket will soon be graced by another format next year – ‘The Hundred’. The English Cricket Board (ECB) recently announced the newest entry to the game which will commence on July 2020. This 100-ball cricket tournament will include eight city-based franchise teams for its inaugural edition and it will be contested by both men’s and women’s team.
‘The Hundred’ player’s draft revealed
Cricketing superstars from across the world are participating in the franchise-based tournament. Many big overseas cricketers have opted for a base price of £100,000 or more. The England players themselves were reportedly conservative in their salary demands ahead of the player’s draft this coming Sunday. Some players from the English teams have been assigned the status of ‘local icons’, which means they are already slated to appear for their respective teams. Also, eight of the England men’s cricket team members are contractually obligated to appear for their respective franchises in the 2020’s edition.
As we approach the first-ever draft of the tournament, here is the list of all overseas players with a reported reserve price of £100,000 or more
