Jos Buttler, who will lead the English team in the major ICC tournament is Kallis' choice to become the highest run-scorer in the World Cup 2023. Jacques Kallis while speaking to ICC said:
I think Jos Buttler will be the leading run scorer. An outside call, but I fancy him in those conditions. Along with England having a good World Cup, I think, um, me, he's going to be the one guy that stands up.

England aims to repeat 2019 ODI World Cup heroics in 2023
The opening match of the ODI World Cup 2023 to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will be a repeat of the final of the 2019 ODI World Cup final. England and New Zealand will take on each other in the opening match and are playing a four-match ODI series ahead of the tournament.
