Over the years the name Virat Kohl has become synonymous with consistency, and in the recently culminated ODI World Cup 2023, King Kohli showcased his insatiable hunger to score runs. In 9 out of the 11 matches, Kohli got the score past 50 and courtesy of that he broke Sachin Tendulkar's record of scoring the most runs in the tournament. He ended up accumulating 765 runs in the competition and thereby was adjudged the player of the tournament award.

Sachin Tendulkar wants Virat Kohli to continue

While he has achieved almost everything in his international career, yet the fans could not get enough of him. However, enthusiasts are not the only ones who want Kohli to keep going, Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar also wishes for the same.

Sachin Tendulkar was there at the Wankhede when Virat Kohli went past him and scored the 50th ODI century. Kohli bowed in front of Tendulkar to pay his respect to Tendulkar. Tendulkar acknowledged the brilliance of Kohli and showered praise on the milestone man on social media. In addition to the earlier praise, Sachin has further hailed Kohli and expressed contentment to have witnessed him soaring to the top.

"I am so pleased he has been able to do that. I am sure that the journey has not stopped. There is a lot of cricket left in him, a lot of runs left in him. A lot of hunger and desire to achieve more for the country. I am happy that the record continues to stay with India. I have always said that the record belongs to India and it has stayed with India," said Sachin in a video by ESPNCricinfo.

What's next for Virat Kohli?

Following the heartbreak in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 final, Virat Kohli has gone away from the limelight and is not a part of the squad that is playing the T20 series against Australia. There are doubts regarding his participation in the South Africa series, and obscurity is riding here whether he is in plans for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. While it would be anybody's guess regarding when Virat Kohli will be back but taking account of the support he gets it would be another much-anticipated return.
