'There Is A Lot To Love': Sachin Tendulkar Shares Heartfelt Post For India's Paralympians

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar took to social media to share a heartfelt message for the Indian contingent that went to the Paris Paralympics.

The Indian contingent that went to the Paris Paralympics created history as they got their best-ever medal tally finish ever breaking the previous best that the Indian contingent got when they travelled to Tokyo in 2021. The Indian Paralympians won a total of 29 medals in their outing in Paris. Of these 29 medals won by the Indian contingent, there are 7 gold Medals, 9 silver medals, and 13 bronze medals. Former Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar who is widely regarded as the 'god of cricket' recently made a heartfelt social media post congratulating all the Paralympians who made the country proud at the global sporting event.

Sachin Tendulkar took to social media platform X to congratulate the Indian contingent that is returning from the Paralympics. Tendulkar in his post also added the photos of all the athletes who won medals for the country at the sporting event.

Sachin Tendulkar in his tweet wrote," 7-9-13 on 7-9-24! That's how we closed the Paris Paralympics! 7 Golds, 9 Silvers, and 13 Bronzes—our best-ever Paralympics, and by some distance! These numbers are etched in stone now and will be remembered for a very long time. And so will the moments. There is a lot to love about how the Indian contingent played the games, and I wholeheartedly congratulate all the players, administrators, and support staff for achieving this. #Paralympics."

Historic Outing For India 

The Paris Paralympics 2024 was a historic outing for India as it showcased the progress India is making in Para-sports. India bettered its tally of 19 medals which it had won in Tokyo by a whole of 10 medals as India finished the Paris Paralympics with 29 medals.

In the 29 medals India won, there were several historic medals too as fans witnessed Harvinder Singh win India's first-ever gold medal in archery at the Paralympics. Avani Lekhara became the first ever Indian to win two gold medals at the Paralympics. 

The next Paralympic Games are to be held in 2028 in Los Angeles, United States.
