'There Will Be No Champions Trophy Without India': PCB Gets Reality Check After India's Refusal

Former India cricketer believes re will be Champions Trophy without Indian team

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has weighed in on matter, stating that if India opts out, tournament will likely be canceled. Chopra explained that brocasters have committed funds to event, but ir investment is contingent upon India's participation. Without India, financial backing would significantly decrease.

"Yes, this is an ICC event. Brocasters have committed money for event. But re is always a rider that if ICC cant ensure India's participation, n brocasters will t invest or re will be a financial re-evaluation. If India does t participate, money falls drastically," Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

Aakash Chopra also highlighted power dynamic between India and Pakistan in international cricket. He mentioned that Pakistan's previous PCB chief h referred to playing in India as "going into enemy's territory" during 2023 ODI World Cup . Chopra emphasized that if Pakistan chooses t to play against India, re will be repercussions, but India's financial influence in international cricket gives m more lever.

" last PCB board chief during 2023 ODI World Cup said 'dushman mulk ja rahe hum' (we are going into enemy's territory). In future, if Pakistan decides t to play against India, re will be repercussions. India will also face repercussions if y do t visit Pakistan, but sanctions will be financial, and how can ICC stop India's money going to India? Pakistan do t have that kind of lever. This is hard reality. I feel it is absolutely certain that re will be Champions Trophy without India. Every team, including Pakistan, understands this," he ded.
