This is something India doesn’t do: Manjrekar dissatisfied with IND's underwhelming showcase vs SA
Former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar expressed his displeasure with India's performance in the Boxing Day Test against South Africa at SuperSport Park.

The Indian Cricket Team had a disappointing start in red-ball cricket in South Africa. While at the SuperSport Park in Centurion, the Proteas shredded the Rohit Sharma-led Team India. Even though a couple of Indian players could secure unique records, the squad eventually faltered and failed to impress in both batting and bowling aspects. the fans were left unhappy as it was Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's first match since the ODI World Cup Final, which did not end well for them.

Former India cricketer left dissatisfied with India's performance in tests vs SA
Apart from KL Rahul in the first innings and Virat Kohli in the second, the rest of the Indan Cricket team did not deliver a decent showcase. South Africa put up a stellar performance, with debutant Marco Jansesn delivering a productive knock and the departing Dean Elgar also putting up numbers for the team. Former Indian batter Sanjay Manjrekar expressed his disappointment over the Men in Blue's showcase in the first test. While speaking to Star Sports, Manjrekar said:

“Surprised by the lack of discipline and adjusting to the conditions. This is something India doesn’t do, and it happened in this particular inning. India now have their work cut out and the only way that they can now come back in the game will have to be through a brilliant effort with the bat in the second innings,” said the former Indian cricketer while speaking mid-match.

Team India's aim to defeat SA in their home fails, could draw series
The longstanding aim of defeating South Africa at their home conditions remains a dream for Team India. The Proteas dominated the visiting Men In Blue as the team's batting failed to impress. India scored 245 runs in the first innings, courtesy of KL Rahul's gritty ton until SA bowled them out. The hosts then put up a colossal effort, with Dean Elgar, Marco Jansen and debutant David Bedingham helping the team to reach 408 runs. They then winded India in just 131 runs.
Team India will now face South Africa in the 2nd test match at the Newlands Cricket Ground from January 3rd to 7th, 2024.
