In the 5th and final T20 against West Indies, Tilak Varma showcased his allround ability and took the wicket of the opposition captain, Nicholas Pooran on the second ball of his international career.

Tilak Varma picks the wicket of Nicholas Pooran
The India vs. West Indies series was expected to push new talent to the fore and indeed the tour turned out to be successful one on that account. Considering his blitz in the IPL, Tilak Varma found a berth in the India's T20 squad and he made the most of it by becoming India's leading run scorer (173) in the 5-match T20 series against West Indies. Having exhibited talent with the bat, in the 5th T20, Varma displayed that he knows how to ball off-spin.
With Brandon King and Nicholas Pooran punishing India on all ends, Hardik Pandya was desperate for a wicket and thus he brought Tilak Varma on the attack. Varma troubled Pooran on the first ball as he survived a stumping but on the second ball, he got the prized scalp of the West Indies skipper. Pooran endeavored to play an unorthodox shot off Varma but could not make an ideal contact and hence got out just short of his fifty.

India suffer 3-2 defeat against West Indies in T20 series
About the match, Hardik Pandya won the match and decided to bat first. The openers-Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill- could not continue the superb show from the other day and fell cheaply this time. Suryakuamr Yadav top-scored for India with an innings of 61. Varma also made a fine contribution of 27 runs. Courtesy of that, India reached the par total of 165.

In reply, West Indies also suffered an early wicket in the form of Kyle Mayers but afterward, Brandon King and Nicholas Pooran managed the matters and put on more than 100 runs together. The partnership took the game away from India and as a result, Windies secured an 8-wicket win at Central Broward Regional Park. With the victory, WI won the 5-match T20 series 3-2.
