In a bid to bring about transparency and accountability, the BCCI has put its house in order so far as ticket allocation or complimentary passes for international matches were concerned. This was a welcome step as there was no clarity and transparency with regard to the complimentary passes, which remained contentious and unaccountable and caused a major headache for the BCCI office-bearers and state associations officials.

In a BCCI letter, a copy of which is with Republic TV, it mentions that the total no of complimentary tickets will be restricted below 1000 -- 981 to be precise with a break up of 309 hospitality, 152 main pavilion general category, and 492 next best general category. The biggest share, of course, was of BCCI sponsors with 110 hospitality tickets and 100 next best general categories while the broadcasters taking 24 hospitality and 50 next best general category.

The BCCI president and secretary will get 50 complimentary, 25 main pavilions and 25 next best general category passes. The home and away teams will each get 25 hospitality and 50 next best general category, BCCI stakeholders to get 25 hospitality & 25 next best general category passes. Perhaps the most interesting decision was to reinstate 152 main pavilion passes to the State Association -- 4 tickets each for every member. This was taken away during the COA regime.
