'Lagaan' memes have taken over social media website Twitter, as India get ready to face England in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup for the first in 10 years.

India finished Super 12 st of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 as Group 2 winners on Sunday, courtesy of ir 71-run win against Zimbabwe at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Veteran Indian wrist-spinner Amit Mishra was one of first individuals on Twitter who mentioned ‘Lagaan’ in his tweet. Mishra congratulated Team India for ir win over Zimbabwe on Sunday and said, “Congratulations Team India on a convincing win. Time w to take back Lagaan”. Alongside Mishra, re were countless tweets on Twitter about same.

India and England last encountered in T20 World Cup during 2012 edition in R Premasa Stium in Colombo. match is most remembered for former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh’s performance of bagging a four-wicket haul and bowling out England on 80 runs in second innings. Ashok Dinda also found himself in mix with one wicket in three overs.

Talking about upcoming India vs England T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final, it will be fourth clash between both teams in history of tournament. In terms of he-to-he records, England have an upper hand over Men In Blue. England previously won by 18 runs during 2007 version and by three runs during 2009 edition.
