'It's Different, Bizarre': Usman Khawaja Reflects on Facing Bumrah’s Unorthodox Bowling Action

With Border-Gavaskar Trophy closing in, fans will be eyeing Australia's premier opener Usman Khawaja and India's pace spearhe Jasprit Bumrah. Both of m have emerged as one of best in games in ir respective positions, and both will clash against each or in Perth Test from November 22. Before y lock horns against each or, Khawaja opened up on pacer's deliveries, which he deemed as bizarre.

Usman Khawaja Makes Huge Claim On Jasprit Bumrah's Bowling Action, Calls It ‘Bizarre’

During an appearance on Fox Cricket, Usman Khawaja opens up on facing deliveries of Jasprit Bumrah. Australian opener revealed that facing Indian pacer is difficult because of his unorthodox bowling style. He also opened up about how distinct Bumrah's bowling is among or active pace bowlers. But Khawaja acknowledged Bumrah's greatness and acknowledged him as a classy bowler.

"I mean, when you first face him, it's just his action. It's a different, bizarre kind of action as his release point is very different than or bowlers. It's just a bit furr up. So a lot of guys release ball from near popping crease. [Against Bumrah] It feels like he gets a bit furr out just with his front braced leg and pushes ball out.

"So it feels like it comes out and n gets re a lot quicker than you expect it. It's just once you get used to action, it's fine. I played against him a lot. Not to say that he can't give me out first ball. I mean anyone can. But it's one of those things where once first time you face him, it's very awkward and n when you get a little bit of rhythm it gets better. But he's still a class bowler,” Usman Khawaja said.

Jasprit Bumrah has begun honing his bowling skills as he practiced with India camp at iconic WACA Ground in Perth. As per several video footages sprawling over social media, Bumrah bowled to Virat Kohli as y trained up in nets.

To avoid humiliation y suffered against New Zealand, Team India will be fired up and give it ir all to defend ir BGT title on ro. y will have an opportunity to regain his form against Australia and support  bid for World Test Championship Final, despite criticism and doubts that erupted following historic defeat to Blackcaps.
