Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019: A recap of Karnataka’s journey to the final
Karnataka defeated Chhattisgarh by 9 wickets in the semi-final. Karnataka will now face Tamil Nadu in the final at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on October 25.

Karnataka outplayed Chhattisgarh in all departments of game as y defeated Harpreet Singh-led side by 9 wickets in a one-sided affair. Karnataka dominated ir way into semi-final with some impressive performances in group st of tournament. 18th edition of ongoing Vijay Hazare started last month in Dehrun when Nagaland took on Manipur in a rain-affected abandoned game. Karnataka will w go up against Tamil Nu for title clash on October 25 at M. Chinnaswamy Stium in Bengaluru.

Karnataka – A ro to final
Karnataka topped Elite Group A and B points table with seven victories in ir eight matches. Manish Pandey-led side defeated Jharkhand to register ir first win in tournament. In a one-sided game, Karnataka batted first and posted 285-9 only to dismiss Jharkhand for 162 to gain a huge-123 run win. Riding on KL Rahul’s impressive 131 at top of order, Karnataka n defeated Kerala by 60 runs. After victories over Jharkhand and Kerala, Karnataka n lost to Hyderab to register ir first and only defeat in ongoing edition so far.

A defeat to Hyderab proved to be a wake-up call as Karnataka n registered back-to-back victories over Chhattisgarh, Andhra, Mumbai, Saurashtra, Goa and Puducherry. ir six-game winning streak continued with ar dominating performance in first semi-final clash against Chhattisgarh.
Batting first, Chhattisgarh were all-out for 223 before ir quota of 50 overs. Karnataka’s run-chase got off to flying start as both batsmen registered ir respective List A half-centuries. Devdutt Pikkal scored a breath-taking 92 at top of order before he was castled by Ajay Mandal. opening batsmen combined to form a 155-run partnership before Pikkal’s dismissal. Indian Test specialist Mayank Agarwal n joined KL Rahul to crease and scored an unbeaten 47 from just 33 balls. KL Rahul himself scored a fluent 88 t out to see his side to victory in 40 overs.

Karnataka will w be looking to maintain ir winning momentum going into final as y will face only unbeaten side in tournament. 2017-18 winners will w be chasing ir fourth Vijay Hazare title on October 25 at M. Chinnaswamy Stium in Bengaluru.
