Chhattisgarh were declared winners based on more number of victories than Mumbai during league phase after match could t be completed due to rains. Chhattisgarh had won five out of ir eight matches in Group A while Mumbai had mand to win four games.
A member of Mumbai support staff expressed displeasure over current rules. “Yes definitely we will make a demand. This was unfair,” an official was quoted as saying by PTI. “How should performance in league st matter in kck-out sts? Every day is a new day. Else, a good team goes out in this fashion. This should t continue,” he added.

Mumbai bowlers restricted Chhattisgarh to 190 for six in 45.4 overs. y were set a revised target of 195 from 35 overs. Mumbai were off to a flyer as y raced to 95/0 in 11.3 overs with youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal batting on 60 and Aditya Tare on 31. However, rain gods decided to show up and match was abandoned, ending Mumbai’s upside-down campaign.

According to rules, Mumbai had to bat at least 20 overs to get a result in this game. But, as game was abandoned, Chhattisgarh qualified on basis of more victories in group st.

Will MCA write to BCCI?
Speaking to a leading media network, an MCA member said that y will discuss issue after seeing if y qualify with ir score (from where match was called off) using DLS method. If y qualify, n y will write to BCCI about it, he concluded.
