Veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh is himself in controversy once more after it was reported that he slapped someone at a social event where there were many people present. Unfortunately, the event was recorded on camera, and the video has quickly become popular on several social media sites, where the Bangladesh cricketer is being criticized for his actions.

Why did Shakib Al Hasan slap a person?

The incident allegedly occurred when Shakib went to the polls to personally supervise the voting process. Considering that the athlete is a well-known star in the nation, people in the vicinity paid close attention to him.

One individual tried to take his hand from behind as a throng crowded around him, wanting to talk to and take a picture with the famous all-rounder. Shakib turned around and reportedly struck the person in the face in reaction, seeming upset.

In the national elections, Shakib Al Hasan, who was running on the Awami League ticket for an MP seat in Magura-1, won by a wide margin.

Shakib made headlines during his election campaign when he was seen dozing on stage while posing for photographs with supporters. This was not the first time that this had happened; a prior video that went viral showed the 36-year-old sitting on a stage seeming a little confused, yawning, and taking pictures with a group of fans.

Moving on to his cricketing pursuits, Shakib captained the Bangladesh squad during their most recent on-field participation in the 2023 World Cup in India. Regretfully, the campaign was unsatisfactory as Bangladesh managed to achieve the eighth spot in the points standings with just two victories from nine league games.

Shakib participated in seven matches throughout the tournament and took nine wickets. He made 186 runs at an average of 26.57 with the bat, including one half-century.
