Virat Kohli , Babar Azam , Kane Williamson and Steve Smith are easily the best batters of the generation, so who would win if there is a 100m race between them? Australia's premier batter Steve Smith was asked to answer this question during a Q&A session on ESPNcricinfo. Smith, who has seen all the greats from close quarters, reckoned the winner would be Kohli. “Probably Virat. He’s a fit guy, so I would go with Virat,” Smith answered without any hesitation. Over the years, Smith and Kohli have formed a special bond on and off the cricket field. There is a lot of mutual respect among the two and fans love it as well. Both are huge cricketing ambassadors as well.

Both the cricket icons were in action on the Thursday, September 19. While Kohli was dismissed for six runs in the first essay of the 1st Test against Bangladesh in Chennai, Smith perished for 32 off 28 deliveries in the opening ODI against England in Nottingham.

The Australian legend stands at 31 on the list of batters with most international runs. He has featured in 335 matches and amassed 16,257 runs at an average of 47.95 with 44 hundreds and 79 half-centuries.

When it comes to the Indian former captain, he is at the fourth spot on the list with 26,948 runs at an average of 53.25, comprising 80 tons and 140 fifties in 534 matches.

Both the cricketers have a long season. The two will finally face-off in the end of the year when India tour Australia for the much-awaited Border-Gavaskar trophy. There will be a total of five Tests played in BGT.
