Virat Kohli blasts critics for questioning Rishabh Pant's failure in NZ Tests

Virat Kohli and his men were left gasping for positives after New Zealand defeated India in the Test series and the ODI series. Here is what Kohli said.

India faced an embarrassing defeat in second Test against New Zealand at Hagley Oval, Christchurch on Monday. New Zealand bowlers once again proved to be too good for Indian batting line-up to survive. On Monday morning, New Zealand won second Test by seven wickets after India gave m a target of 132 to chase in ir second innings with two full days of play available.

New Zealand vs India: Virat Kohli defends Rishabh Pant

When asked about preferring Rishabh Pant over Wriddhiman Saha in two Tests, Kohli sided Pant and mentioned how 22-year-old was given an opportunity because of hard work that he put in behind scenes. Pant was replaced with Saha in series against South Africa last year after a string of unimpressive performances.

Indian skipper, who himself did t have a great outing with bat, attributed India's loss to an all-round poor show with bat. Kohli maintained that one or two failures should t bor team and team is still filled with champion players ne less. Pant scored 60 runs in four innings that he played against NZ in two Tests. Virat Kohli also added that one in Indian team is taking ir position in team for granted.
