Virat Kohli claims IPL will take place this year in Dubai: Ex-India pacer Atul Wassan
Virat Kohli: Atul Wassan spoke about how the IPL could happen in September in the UAE, as per his conversations with the RCB captain and some other players.

IPL 2020, which was scheduled to start on March 29, was indefinitely postponed due to coronavirus pandemic. As of w, re is a cloud of uncertainty looming over fate of tournament this year. re has also been a lot of speculation about commencement of IPL 2020.

IPL 2020 could be held in Dubai: Atul Wassan
w, former India pacer Atul Wassan has reckoned that IPL could be held in Dubai this year. While speaking to Sportskeeda, Wassan spoke about how IPL could happen in September in UAE, as per his conversations with skipper Virat Kohli and some or players. Wassan added that it is better to organize IPL 2020 in a well-connected city like Dubai.
motive behind this is that it would reduce amount of travelling between stadiums and players could avoid flights altoger during tournament. Wassan furr said that all travelling between cities and moving from hotel-to-hotel would put players and fans at risk, considering crisis that world is in currently.

On being asked about domestic competitions in India, Wassan said that he doesn't see that happening. Because re are too many teams, too many matches and too much travelling. He added that price of flights is also a factor so re is t much hope for domestic competitions to start soon.

Wassan furr said that budgeting has to be done and added that y don’t kw how many flights will start, how many players will get on and how much will tickets cost. Wassan reckoned that India is still t ready to have Ranji Trophy in same format as what we have seen over years. However, he admitted that re could see a version of domestic tournament where teams play within ir own zones.

BCCI CEO hopeful of conducting IPL 2020 after monsoon
fate of IPL 2020 largely depends on T20 World Cup in Australia which is scheduled from October 18 to vember 15. Australia might postpone tournament due to coronavirus pandemic t subsiding in country. CEO of BCCI, Rahul Johri said that plans are on to hold IPL 2020 with Indian and international players after monsoon.
While speaking at TCM Sports Huddle webinar, Johri said that IPL is one of greatest engrs in cricket. Johri furr said that flavour of IPL is that best players in world come and play and everyone is committed to maintaining that flow. But it will be a step-by-step process. He added that y can’t expect things to get rmalised instantly. However, he was clear that players’ decision to participate or t would be respected.

BCCI CEO reckoned that y will be guided by government guidelines and added that advisory says that IPL is suspended till furr tice. He also revealed that y are engaging with various ncies. After current phase of lockdown ends, re is monsoon. Cricketing activities can start only after monsoon. Johri accepted that scheduling IPL won’t be easy even in October-vember window. However, he was optimistic and hopeful that situation will improve after monsoon.
