Despite Kohli's lean patch, Shastri believes that 36-year-old will excel in upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series against Australia, where he has a remarkable record.

Ravi Shastri, who has been a long-time supporter of Virat Kohli, stated that right-hander will "get his juices going" in Australia, where he has averaged an impressive 54.0 in four tours. Shastri also noted that Kohli's start to Test series will be crucial, and he would like to see him firing on all cylinders again.

Ravi Shastri's comments come at a time when Virat Kohli has been under pressure due to his recent form, with just two centuries and 11 half-centuries in his last 60 Test innings. However, Shastri's backing will undoubtedly provide a boost to Kohli's confidence as he prepares to take on Australia in upcoming series.
"You mellow with age, don’t you? But I think at start of Test series, you might just see (Kohli) firing again. He needs to be, I’d like to see him (like that) again,” Shastri was quoted as saying by news.com.au.

"In face, that’s Kohli. Come Australia, he’ll get his juices going. It’s (about) how he starts off, and for Australia, it’s with Steve Smith."

first Test of Border-Gavaskar Trophy is scheduled to be played in Perth from November 22 onwards.
