India's run-machine Virat Kohli registered his 22nd half-century in T20Is, breaking yet another record of becoming the player with the most number of half-centuries in the shorter format of the game. King Kohli also went on to become the batsman with the highest number of runs in men's T20 cricket. Former Pakistani skipper Shahid Afridi was all praises for the Man of the Match Virat Kohli for his magnificent knock that ensured India victory in the second T20 against South Africa at Mohali on Wednesday. Earlier in the contest, Virat Kohli also took a stunner in the field to get rid of South Africa's skipper Quinton de Kock.

Former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi hailed Virat Kohli as 'a great player indeed' and wished him success for the future. Virat Kohli made 72 runs with four boundaries and three sixes en route to his unbeaten knock. The Indian skipper reiterated his label of the 'chase machine' as he stood unbeaten at the end of yet another successful run-chase for the Men in Blue. Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi wished luck to Virat Kohli and urged him to continue entertaining cricket fans all around the world for more years to come. With his 22nd T20 50, Virat Kohli became the batsman with the highest number of half-centuries in T20s - with 22 fifties and more to go. Further, the Indian skipper also became the player to have scored the most runs in men's T20 cricket, taking his tally to 2441 runs in T20Is. Earlier in the contest, Virat Kohli took an absolute stunner to get rid of Quinton de Kock. The Indian skipper was adjudged Man of the Match for his magnificent knock and Virat Kohli expressed immense pride in representing the country. Asked about the mantra behind his consistency, Kohli said: "It's the badge in front of my shirt. It's a pride to play for my country so whatever it takes to get over the line, I will do. Get the team across the line anyhow. If you want to make your team win, you'll find a way."
