Virat Kohli has comic reaction after recalling MS Dhoni asking him to keep wickets in 2015
Indian captain and batting icon Virat Kohli talks about the time when he was asked to don the wicketkeeping gloves in 2015 by his then skipper MS Dhoni.

Indian captain Virat Kohli is widely considered as one of greatest modern-day batsmen in world. Interestingly, cricketer has also donned wicketkeeping gloves when being asked to do so in 2015 by n captain MS Dhoni. Quite recently, Virat Kohli recalled incident and narrated events that led to his brief wicketkeeping stint in an ODI against Bangladesh.

Virat Kohli recently interacted with his teammate Mayank Agarwal on latter’s show ‘Open Nets with Mayank’ as uploaded by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on ir social media accounts. In show, Mayank Agarwal asked his captain to describe events that led him to take over wicketkeeping role from MS Dhoni. Virat Kohli responded that it was MS Dhoni who had asked him to do so because he wanted to go on a washroom break.
Indian captain also said it was fun to keep wickets for a while and he was also adjusting field at time. However, he said that Umesh Yadav was bowling in full flow and his pace troubled him behind wickets. Virat Kohli admitted to thinking about wearing a helmet at time but decided to go against it because he thought it would be humiliating to do so for just a couple of overs. right-handed batsman also laughingly told Mayank Agarwal to ask same question to MS Dhoni as well.

Virat Kohli furr stated that it was during that time when he learned about MS Dhoni’s immense responsibilities. He said that he understood his ex-captain has a “lot on his plate” when he is on field. MS Dhoni’s wicketkeeping coupled with his Team India leadership made Kohli realise that his ex-skipper has to “focus on every ball”.
