Virat Kohli laughed off the question when he was asked about BCCI president-elect Sourav Ganguly speaking to him seeking clarity on the future of MS Dhoni during the end of the press conference after India's whitewash of South Africa in Ranchi on Tuesday, October 22. The Indian captain said he congratulated him on becoming the BCCI president and added that Ganguly had not spoken to him about that yet. He said the BCCI president will get in touch with him when he wants to.

"I am sure. What do I say about that? I'll go meet him when he tells me to. That's it," the Indian skipper added during the post-match conference, as the room burst out with laughter.

India won the third and final Test by an innings and 202 runs inside four days. On being asked now that he has an extra day will he will go to Dhoni's place and meet the former India captain? "No. He's here. He's in the change room. Come, say hello," Kohli responded before ending the press conference with a chuckle on his face.

Dhoni is currently on a sabbatical from cricket as he skipped India's series against West Indies and South Africa and has not featured in the Indian jersey after the 2019 World Cup.

India will now host Bangladesh for three T20 Internationals and two Tests which will start on November 3 in Delhi. The squad for the T20I series will be announced on Thursday and the BCCI president-elect Ganguly has said that he will speak with the selectors about Dhoni's future.
