Virat Kohli's Old Video On Crimes Against Women Resurfaces Amid Kolkata Rape And Murder Case Outrage

The Kolkata rape and murder case has sent shockwaves across the entire country. There are nationwide protests taking place and everybody has been demanding death penalty for the prime accused. Recently, the Kolkata Derby between Mohun Bagan and East Bengal was also cancelled due to the state of law and administration in the state. Indian cricketer Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah also shared social media posts and voiced their opinion regarding the heinous crime committed at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical Hospital.
Virat Kohli's Hard-Hitting Take On Crimes Committed Against Women
An old video of Virat Kohli is currently doing the rounds on internet. The former India captain recently completed sixteen years in international cricket and in an old clip which has resurfaced, Kohli gives a very blunt reply on the crimes committed against women. The video is being played as his reaction to the Kolkata rape and murder case but it dates back to 2017.

'It is disturbing and shocking and I am ashamed to be a part of that society. I think we need to change our thinking. We need to treat men and women in the same way. Be respectful and treat women with some compassion. See, if something like that happens and for people to watch it and not do anything about it is a cowardly act. ' said Kohli in the video.

Senior Doctors Appear Before Police
Senior doctors Kunal Sarkar and Subarna Goswami appeared before the police on Monday afternoon in connection with posts they shared on social media over the alleged rape and murder of a doctor at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

Sarkar and Goswami reached the Kolkata Police headquarters at Lal Bazar leading a march of doctors. The procession that began at the Medical College, Calcutta, was stopped by the police near Phears Lane-BB Ganguly Street Crossing, and the two doctors were escorted to the police headquarters by senior officers.
They were asked by the police to appear before it for the posts they shared on social media.
