Virat Kohli sends heartfelt message after winning ICC Male Cricketer of the Decade

Indian captain Virat Kohli shared a heartfelt message on being honoured with the coveted Sir Garfield Sobers Award for ICC Men's Cricketer of the decade.

International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday anunced players of dece awards across all three formats of game. Two stalwarts of Indian cricket - Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni were among recipients of top hours. Kohli won ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of Dece for his unparalleled record in  format. 32-year old also bagged coveted Sir Garfield Sobers Award for ICC Men's Cricketer of Dece. On or hand, Dhoni won ICC Spirit of Cricket Award of Dece for his gesture to call England's Ian Bell back to  crease after he was ruled out by umpire.

Virat Kohli shares profound mess on winning ICC Men's Cricketer of Dece award

After ICC Awards 2020 were anunced by apex-board, Kohli shared a heartfelt mess on being houred with  Sir Garfield Sobers Award for ICC Men's Cricketer of Dece. official Twitter handle of BCCI shared Kohli's mess where he could be seen donning Indian jersey.

In video, Kohli said that he never strived to be better than anybody else but he always wanted to be best version of himself. Accepting hour that was bestowed upon him, Kohli stated that he is proud to receive award because he kws that re have been a number of quality players in last dece who have brought a lot to international cricket.

Indian skipper furr said that getting  award doesn't give him a sense of superiority over ors. According to Kohli, award is a recognition of perseverance and hard work that he has put in last ten years and will continue to do so in coming years. tably, on Sunday, Kohli was included in all three teams of dece by ICC (Tests, ODIs and T20Is), making him only player to do so.

Sri Lankan legends Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara are fourth and fifth on list of most runs scored in a dece with 16,304 and 15,999  respectively. Indian batting icon Sachin Tendulkar is sixth with 15,962 runs in 2000s while his teammate Rahul Dravid is seventh with 15,853.
