Virat Kohli wishes luck to India's Olympic-bound athletes ahe of Paris Olympics
In an impassioned plea, Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has asked nation to rally behind its Olympic competitors, saying, "y inch closer to podium with dogged determination" in next qurennial spectacle beginning July 26 in Paris.
Kohli called for India to be acknowledged as a world-class athletic force in a video that was just over one minute long and shared on social media. video included athletes who are heed to Paris, such as javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra and boxing hopeful Nishant Dev.

"re was a time when world could only think of India as a land of snake charmers and elephants. Over time, that has changed. Today we are known to world as largest democracy, a global tech hub," he said.
"We are known for cricket and Bollywood, for start-up unicorns and as fastest growing economy in world. So, what is next big thing for this great nation? Well, that will be more gold, more silver and more bronze," he ded.

He n went on to dress Indian sports fans, asking m to support 118-strong group of athletes, who would be aiming to better country's best ever performance of seven medals achieved in previous Games in Tokyo.
"Our brors and sisters are heed to Paris, hungry for medals. A billion of us will be watching m nervous and excited as our athletes set foot in tracks and fields and courts and rings.

"Every neighbourhood, every corner of India will hear a chorus of voices chanting 'India, India, India'. Join me in remembering ir faces as y inch closer to podium with dogged determination of waving Tiranga with pride. Jai Hind and good luck India," Kohli, who is currently in London on a break after India's T20 World Cup triumph in West Indies last month, said in his monologue.
Most of Indian competitors are currently training abro and will he to French capital from ir respective bases.
India's medal hopes will rest on shooting, bminton, wrestling, and boxing aside from expectations of a second successive podium finish from Chopra, who scripted history with his javelin throw gold in Tokyo.
