Virat Kohli was very gutted after Shreyas Iyer h committed a huge blunder which cost India a wicket during second T20I against Sri Lanka at Holkar Stium in Indore on Tuesday. What really stood out was that hosts h picked up a big wicket on previous delivery and could have well h ar one if t for Iyer's brain fe.

Virat Kohli gutted after Shreyas Iyer's blunder
This h happened in eighth over of first innings which was bowled by Navdeep Saini. On previous ball, young pacer h castled Danushka Gunathilaka by a gem of a delivery. On following delivery, India could have easily mand to effect a run-out when both batsmen h clue while hesitating to take a n-existing single but it was t to be. On penultimate delivery of that over, new batsman Osho Fernando h tapped ball and set off for a quick single. He h sprinted to n-striker's end. However, his batting partner initially hesitated and n ran to striker's end but n it was too late for him and a run-out was on cards.
Astonishingly, Shreyas Iyer who was fielding at point collected ball perfectly but n threw it at wrong end. Inste of striker's end, he took an aim at bowler's end as everyone was shell-shocked after witnessing what h just happened. It was skipper Virat Kohli who was disappointed with Iyer's poor fielding display as he put his hand on he. Kohli was n seen laughing and at same time, Indian captain was also telling Iyer that he should have thrown ball towards keeper's end.

Sri Lanka were restricted to 142/9 in ir 20 overs courtesy of a disciplined bowling effort by Indian bowlers. In reply, openers Shikhar Dhawan and KL Rahul ded 71 runs for opening wicket. After duo was dismissed, skipper Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer steied ship for hosts. Iyer scored an important 34 while Kohli remained unbeaten on a 17-ball 30 at a strike rate of 176.47 including a boundary and a couple of maximums as Men In Blue got across line by seven wickets with over a couple of overs to spare to go 1-0 up in three-match T20I series.

third and final T20I will be played at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stium on Friday. first game at Guwahati was washed away due to rain which means if India win third match n y will win series and if Sri Lanka win n series will be leveled.
