WATCH: Jonny Bairstow dismisses Ishan Kishan even after accidentally bumping into the stumps

Sunriser Hyderabad wicketkeeper batsman Jonny Bairstow has had a good start to his IPL career. On Saturday, the English batsman grabbed the spotlight for his wicketkeeping skills behind the stumps to effect the run out of Ishan Kishan during the match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

The incident happened during the 13th over of Mumbai innings which was bowled by SRH's leg-spinner Rashid Khan. Ishan Kishan punched the ball towards Vijay Shankar who was standing at point and set off for a quick single. He charged half way down the crease only to be sent back by Kieron Pollard as there was no run available.

Shankar threw the ball towards Bairstow who accidentally bumps into the stumps and the bails fall off while collecting the ball.

Nonetheless, he does not get distracted and managed to dislodge the wickets. The on-field umpires referred this to the third umpire and the replays showed that Kishan was just short of his crease and was given out as the SRH players and fans celebrated

The hosts SRH elected to bowl first after winning the toss. The Hyderabad bowlers worked in tandem as they picked up wickets at regular intervals to have Mumbai reeling at 97/7. It took some hard-hitting from Kieron Pollard to take MI to a decent total of 136/7 in their 20 overs. Pollard played an important knock of unbeaten 26-ball 46 at a strike rate of 176.92.

The turning point of the match came when IPL debutant Alzarri Joseph came to bowl for the first time and picked up the important wicket of David Warner off his very first delivery. He went on to pick up six wickets in his 3.4 overs by giving away just 12 runs which also included a maiden at an economy of 3.27. With this splendid play, Mumbai Indians won the match by 40 runs.
