WATCH: RCB's Navdeep Saini's brilliant catch sends back DC's Shikhar Dhawan for a golden duck

Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday suffered their sixth straight defeat by four wickets against Delhi Capitals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Even though they lost, the three-time IPL finalists had something to cheer about on the field. In the first over of Delhi's run chase which was bowled by New Zealand quickie Tim Southee, Shikhar Dhawan was caught off the very first delivery he faced.

In the third ball of the first over, Southee bowled a simple widish length delivery outside off stump and Dhawan slashed at it with great force. While it was a good shot, it unfortunately ended up going straight into Navdeep Saini's hands who was fielding at point.

Saini showed a good presence of mind in judging the ball and not spilling it from his hands after having completed the catch which certainly made a difficult catch looked easy. As a result of Navdeep Saini's brilliance, Shikhar Dhawan was back in the dug out for a golden duck and Delhi got off to a bad start as the RCB players celebrated along with the partisan fans.

However, the celebrations did not last long as Delhi fought back with a 68 run second wicket partnership between skipper Shreyas Iyer and young opening batsman Prithvi Shaw. Iyer anchored the run chase with a match-winning knock of a splendid  50-ball 67 at a strike rate of 134.00 which included eight boundaries and two maximums. He was dismissed in the 18th over with Delhi needing five more runs for victory.

Post his dismissal, Delhi lost two more wickets of Chris Morris and a well-set Rishabh Pant. Nonetheless, Axar Patel completed the formalities in the 19th over by hitting a boundary to take the Capitals past the finish line.

After winning the toss on Sunday, Delhi Capitals invited RCB to bat first. It turned out to be a good decision as South African speedster Kagiso Rabada scalped four wickets by giving away 25 runs at an economy of 5.25.

Skipper Virat Kohli top scored for RCB with a 33-ball 41 which helped them get to a respectable total of 149/8 in their 20 overs.
