WATCH | Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja have sprint race in 2nd Test; See who won the duel

Indian captain Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja were involved in a sprint race to save the ball from going to the boundary.

India and South Africa are currently locking horns against each other in the second Test of their two-match series in Cape Town. On Day 1 of the game, South Africa won the toss and elected to bat first. India took advantage of the conditions and bowled the Proteas out for just 55 runs, the lowest for South Africa in their 135-year-long Test history. Mohammed Siraj shone for India with the ball as he picked up a six-wicket haul.

Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja sprint race

During the first innings of the second Test match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja were involved in a sprint race to save the ball from going to the boundary. A video of their race is going viral on social media. The video shows Jadeja and Rohit sprinting toward the boundary rope at full speed. Before reaching the end, Jadeja could be seen slowing down, allowing Rohit Sharma to collect the ball and throw it in the middle.  

As far as the match is concerned, India have already closed the lead and are trying to put a big total on the board. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are currently batting in the middle. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been dismissed by Kagiso Rabada for a duck. Earlier, India bowled South Africa out for 55 runs. Siraj picked up a six-wicket haul, while Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar scalped two wickets each.
