WATCH: Sarfaraz Khan's stunning 'Dil Scoop' is all heart, no eyes

Kings XI Punjab registered their second straight home win as they got the better of Delhi Capitals by 14 runs on Monday.  By the virtue of this win, they registered their third win in the ongoing edition.

However, there was an interesting thing in Monday's match which stunned everyone. It was none other than young batsman Sarfaraz Khan. The youngster attempted a 'Dil Scoop' which left everyone admiring the young batsman's technique. The incident happened in the ninth over of Kings XI Punjab's innings which was bowled by Sarfaraz's 2016 U-19 World Cup team-mate Avesh Khan. Khan bowled a simple one on the off stump line and Sarfaraz  sat down and played a scoop shot which dropped just short of the boundary and went for four runs. This shot was made famous by the former Sri Lankan legend Tilakratne Dilshan and hence, it is known as 'Dil Scoop'. This shot was an enthralling experience for all the fans who were present over there as Sarfaraz had his eyes closed while playing this shot but he had already made up his mind to go for it. This shot was enjoyed by the Kings XI Punjab dugout. The fielding coach Craig McMillan had a hearty laugh over it while skipper Ravichandran Ashwin was visibly stunned but at the same time also appreciated this shot. Meanwhile, the bowler Avesh Khan gave a bemused look as he tried to figure out what had just happened. This video was shared on Twitter.

Kings XI Punjab were put into bat by DC captain Shreyas Iyer. Their start was very poor as they were reduced to 58/3. However, a 62 run partnership between Sarfaraz Khan and David Miller bought Punjab's innings back on track. Sarfaraz played an important knock of a 29-ball 39 at a strike rate of 134.48 while Miller was Punjab's p scorer with a 30-ball 43. Mandeep Singh played a solid cameo of a 21-ball 29 and added finishing touches to Punjab innings which helped them post a respectable total of 166/9 in their 20 overs.

In reply the Capitals suffered an early setback as Prithvi Shaw was dismissed by Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin in the very first ball. Nonetheless, it was Sam Curran who grabbed the spotlight with his match-winning hat-trick in the penultimate over. His  four wickets in 2.2 overs at an economy of 4.71 helped Punjab register a 14 run win.
