Spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja delivered an outstanding effort in the first ODI at the Kensington Oval, dismissing the West Indies for 114 runs. Kuldeep got vital wickets, including those of Hope (43), Dominic Drakes (3), Yannic Cariah (3), and Jayden Seales (0), helping the West Indies post their second-lowest 50-over total against Team India. He took four wickets while allowing only six runs. Jadeja also contributed significantly, capturing three wickets for 37 runs.

Furthermore, Kuldeep and Jadeja made history by becoming the first pair of Indian left-arm spinners to take seven or more wickets in a 50-over match. In addition to their outstanding bowling, opener Ishan Kishan scored 52 runs off 46 balls, while skipper Rohit Sharma stayed undefeated, leading India to a comfortable victory against the West Indies in the first match of the three-match series.
