Here's how Virat Kohli helped Mohammed Siraj dismiss Marco Jansen
During the second Test match between India and South Africa in Cape Town on Wednesday, Mohammed Siraj registered his career-best figures in international red-ball cricket as he picked up a six-wicket haul. Siraj bowled a deadly spell during the first session of Day 1, taking the wickets of six South African batters, eventually helping India bowl out their opponents for just 55 runs.
After the dismissal of David Bedingham in the 16th over, Marco Jansen came to bat in the middle. Siraj was bowling for India and was steaming hot as he had just secured the wicket of Bedingham. Virat Kohli, who was fielding at the slip, secretly gestured to Siraj, asking him to bowl an outswinger. Siraj listened to his former captain and did exactly what he had asked for. In the next delivery, Jansen gets an outside edge as he comes forward to defend the ball.
Siraj then burst into a celebration as Jansen went back to the pavilion for a duck. Siraj came back in the 18th over to dismiss Kyle Verreynne for 15 off 30 balls. Apart from Siraj, Mukesh Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah also contributed as they picked up 2 wickets each.
