Former CSK Player Reveals The Match When MS Dhoni Lost His Cool

Subramaniam Badrinath, who was a part of the CSK team from 2008 to 2013, shared how once in the dressing room his dismissal became a reason behind MS Dhoni 's fury and a "small water bottle" had to conjure all the aggravation of MS Dhoni .

“He is also a human…he has lost his cool,” Badrinath said. “But that has never happened on the field. He would never let the opposition know that he had lost his cool. In this match against RCB in Chennai, we were chasing 110 odd. We lost wickets in a cluster there and we ended up losing the match." Badrinath told InsideSport.

Badrinath mentioned about the match that took place back in the inaugural season i.e., in 2008. There CSK were chasing a score of 127 at the Chepauk stadium. In reply, Chennai was 60 without the loss but their approach was a tad slower. RCB fetched a couple of wickets and then came back into the match and eventually kept CSK at bay by 14 runs.

MS Dhoni Kicked The Bottle

Badrinath, who was known as the crisis manager in the team, could not contribute much in the match and held out after scoring just 1 run. His wicket had quite an effect on the dressing room as even MS Dhoni had to find a way to vent out his frustration.

"I got out to a lap shot against Anil Kumble. I was LBW. So, I was standing inside the dressing room, and he was coming inside, where there was a small water bottle. MS just kicked it out of the park. I was like, 'Shit, oh my god!' Nobody wants to see that. We just couldn’t make eye contact with him. We were all trying to stay away from him. But that was it. He did not say anything. There was no team meeting regarding that," he added.
