'I Have a Wife and kid': West Indies Batter Asked Mark Wood For Mercy After 'Brutal' 97 MPH Over
Mark Wood was brimming fire with the ball in the second day of second test of England vs West Indies so much so that WI batters had to ask him for mercy.

England and West Indies are locked into battle in the second test of their three match series at Tent Bridge, Nottingham. West Indies batters fought really well with England entering Day 3 of the second test as they only trail by 65 runs after England's massive score 416 in the first innings.
On Day 2, the West Indies fight back was led by batter Kavem Hodge who scored his first ever test century. However, the century was in no shape or form easy as he had to whether an absolutely brutal over from Mark Wood which according to England cricket was the fastest over by a bowler since they started keeping record. Wood bowled an absolute ripper of a 97MPH (156.2 MPH) delivery in the over.
West Indies batter Kavem Hodge revealed post the day that he had to plead Mark Wood to show some mercy in brutal.
Kavem Hodge wanted Mark Wood to show mercy
Kavem Hodge speaking on his fantastic century after the end of Day two, said that facing an absolutely from Mark Wood and surviving it made his ton all the more satisfying.
Hodge joked that at one point he told Mark Wood to let off steam because he had wife and kids at home.
“There was one point I made a joke, I said 'Hey, I have a wife and kids at home.' I just had to laugh, but it was good and it made the century very satisfying,” revealed Kavem Hodge in a press conference.
Kavem Hodge further admitted that Test Cricket is brutal and a challenge like Mark Wood doesn't come around often.
“It was brutal. It is not every day you face a guy who bowls every single ball over 90mph. Test cricket is brutal, it is challenging, it is mentally draining. But to experience that, facing someone like Mark Wood, it was very challenging and satisfying,” revealed Kavem Hodge.

Mark Wood bowled an insane over with his six deliveries clocking, 93.9 mph, 96.1 mph 95.2 MPH, 92.2 mph, 96.5 mph, 95.2 mph.
This according to England cricket was the fastest over by a bowler at home since they started keeping records and as it turned out, Mark Wood went on to break his record in the very next over.
