The cricketing world is entering unchartered waters on 30 June, as India play against England in their seventh World Cup game at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Unusually, Team India is at the receiving end of massive support from not just Indians, but also cricketing fans from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka as well. In a first, neighboring fans are rooting for India to emerge victorious, just so that their teams(Pakistan and Bangladesh) stand a chance to find themselves a spot in the semi-finals.

The buzz on social media started off quite early, as fans expressed their excitement and hopefulness for India to win the match. While Pakistan media houses and fans maintain that India would conspire against the former and would lose the game against England just to knock Pakistan out of the tournament, a lot of fans have come out in support of India, taking to social media to wish the Men in Orange.

Pakistan fans are in two minds, with some vouching for India to pick up a victory and the rest holding on to their opinion that India would lose the match intentionally to deny Pakistan a spot in the semi-finals.
