Australia's star opener David Warner on Sunday tched up his maiden T20 century against Sri Lanka on his birthday and helped team score a massive 233 runs in first T20 against Sri Lanka in Adelaide. Warner achieved feat in just 56 balls as he smashed Lankan bowlers all over ground. 64 of his runs came in boundaries which comprised of 10 fours and four long hits. Twitterattis burst out with some fantastic reactions as Warner smashed a century on his birthday to get party started.

Australia's skipper Aaron Finch stitched a solid opening partnership with David Warner before he was dismissed for 64 runs. Glen Maxwell took over from Aaron Finch and raced away to his fifty off just 22 balls. Glen Maxwell smashed consecutive sixes en route to his fifty and played helicopter shot to get to his half-century. Sri Lanka's Kasutha Ranjitha became most expensive bowler in T20I after he conceded 75 runs in his four overs.

Chasing a mammoth target of 234 runs, Sri Lanka's batting order collapsed to pressure of Australian bowlers, with spinner Adam Zampa picking up three scalps while pacers Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins picked up two wickets each. Sri Lanka's highest run-scorer in match was Dasun Shanaka, who scored 17 runs, followed by skipper Lasith Malinga and Kusal Perera.
