India's squad for their tour against Sri Lanka has been announced and Gautam Gambhir in his debut series as Team India head coach has already made a big call of snubbing Hardik Pandya and handing the captaincy of India in T20Is to Suryakumar Yadav.
Not only has Hardik Pandya been snubbed as captain of the squad but he is also not the vice captain as that role goes into the hands of Shubman Gill. This does come as a surprise as Hardik Pandya was touted as the next captain of India in T20Is after Rohit Sharma's retirement given he was the vice captain of the side in their triumphant T20 World Cup 2024 campaign.
