The Indian women's skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur, had walked off the field after having gotten hurt in the previous game because of some discomfort in her neck. She was batting on 29 against Pakistan on Sunday. Team India won that game by six wickets. But they could still face an early elimination from the tournament following the loss to New Zealand in their opener. To qualify further in the tournament, the team needs to be in the top two positions to become eligible for playoffs, and they need to win the remaining set of matches to further strengthen their case to win the coveted ICC title.
On Wednesday, India takes on Sri Lanka, a team that upset them in the Asia Cup tournament to secure a win in the summit clash. Their chances of advancing to the semifinals are slim and are still yet to face Australia.
