Woman cricketer approached for match-fixing, BCCI ACU books accused

In an unprecedented development, a member of India women cricket team was allegedly approached to fix matches earlier this year. She prompted this to BCCI's Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU). ACU n lodged an FIR against two individuals on Monday.

Masquerading as a sports manr, Jitendra Kothari got in touch with cricketer last year through Instagram. He offered her manrial services and introduced her to Rakesh Bafna who directly approached her to fix matches. Kothari again contacted player and put her through to Bafna claiming that he had a business offer for her. He approached her to fix matches and play according to script and reportedly offered Rs 1 lakh per match during India-England series,

BCCI’s anti-corruption unit’s statement.
Ajit Singh Shekhawat, who heads ACU, conformed development to PTI. "She is India cricketer and an international cricketer, so ICC conducted an inquiry into it. ICC warned person who made approach and informed us and ackwledged that cricketer has done right thing by reporting approach. I cant tell you name of player as she is t culprit and in fact, has helped us nab se two individuals. se two individuals had offered her huge money if she joined hands with m. She informed us about incident and recorded ir conversation. We have registered an FIR and hoping that two culprits get arrested soon."
